New screen. Same cluster.
Slough covered.

Blank or fading display on a Fiat 500 or Abarth in Slough? It's the LCD glass, it's a known fail, and it's an hour's kerbside work with the right screen in stock — which is exactly what we carry.

What the 500 does
when the screen goes.

01 / Flicker

Ghosting and dropouts.

The display stutters, shadows, or blinks whole sections. Vibration and temperature both trigger it. A failing LCD, announcing itself.

Gets worse
02 / Heat

Dies warm, returns cold.

Works first thing, gone by the school run, back the next morning. Thermal expansion is breaking the contact — the endgame is a screen that doesn't come back.

Tell-tale sign
03 / Segments

Digits half-missing.

Eights read as sixes, the trip looks like code. Individual segment lines have dropped off the glass. The stored numbers are fine; the display of them isn't.

Progressive
04 / Blank

No mileage. No fuel. Nothing.

Needles sweep, warning lamps light, and the middle of the dial is black. Total LCD failure — and still nothing wrong with the cluster behind it.

Most common

New glass.
Nothing else changes.

From Windsor to Slough is a short hop for us, and Berkshire as a whole is core territory — SL1, SL2 and SL3 all covered at your home or workplace. What brings us over most often isn't keys or coding: it's the 500's dash screen quietly giving up.

It's a screen swap, not surgery. The failed LCD comes off the original board, the new one goes on, and the cluster goes straight back into the dash. Immobiliser pairing, coding, stored mileage: all untouched, because the only component that changed is the one that displays them.

A dealer can only sell the fix they stock: an entire cluster, ordered in, fitted and aligned — with the calendar doing the real damage, since the wait for parts and a slot is commonly measured in weeks. Replacing just the screen costs a fraction of that and happens the day we park outside your door in Slough.

If the fault turns out to be deeper than the glass, the same visit covers it: full cluster repair, module replacement and proper diagnostics are all on board.

One cluster, two states: how it arrived, and how it went back — same board, same true mileage, new glass.

Fiat 500 screen replacement
Fixed price by reg — agreed before we travel

Send the reg, say roughly where in Slough the car sleeps, and pick a slot. Most screens are in stock in the van — the repair happens first visit.

Fiat 500 screens in Slough,
answered.

Does replacing the screen touch my mileage?
No. The odometer reading is held in memory on the cluster's circuit board. The LCD is only the window it shows through — swap the glass and the same stored figure lights up on the new screen.
What will it cost?
Give us the reg and postcode and you get a fixed price before we travel — it doesn't move on the day. It comes in at a fraction of the whole-cluster route, which also usually means parts on order and weeks of waiting rather than a single visit.
Will the car need coding or alignment afterwards?
Nothing. That's the entire point of keeping your original cluster: the immobiliser pairing, proxi configuration and mileage never leave the car. Reconnect, test, drive.
What if the screen isn't the real problem?
Then we tell you, before any work. The van carries full diagnostics, so if a 500 turns out to have a supply, wiring or cluster-board fault instead, you get an honest answer and a price for the right fix — not a screen you didn't need.
Why do these screens die so young?
Heat cycling. The ribbon is bonded straight onto the glass, the dash bakes in summer and roasts by heater in winter, and the bond fatigues until segments start dropping. It's a design-life issue, not something you caused.
