Brentwood sits well inside our mobile patch — we run in via the M25 at junction 28 and cover every CM13, CM14 and CM15 address. The 500 is everywhere in Essex, which means so is this fault: the segment LCD between the dials cooking itself to death over years of dashboard heat.
It's a screen swap, not surgery. The failed LCD comes off the original board, the new one goes on, and the cluster goes straight back into the dash. Immobiliser pairing, coding, stored mileage: all untouched, because the only component that changed is the one that displays them.
Compare the franchise route: a complete replacement cluster has to be ordered, the car booked in, and the new unit proxi-aligned — drivers regularly report the whole cycle running into weeks. Ours runs into an afternoon in Brentwood, and the quote you get by reg before we travel is the figure you pay.
If the fault turns out to be deeper than the glass, the same visit covers it: full cluster repair, module replacement and proper diagnostics are all on board.
