Mercedes Mileage Correction,
cluster and ezs agreeing.

A Mercedes keeps its mileage story in more than the dash: the EZS ignition module holds its own copy and the car compares notes. We bring both to the true figure — at your address, verified on the live car.

Three-pointed catch
The EZS remembers.
Change the cluster figure alone and the ignition module quietly disagrees — the mismatch waits for the next diagnostic scan. Both together or not at all.

Where Mercedes stores the miles

From the W204/W211/W212 generations onward the instrument cluster and the EZS (the electronic ignition switch, EIS to some) cross-hold the odometer figure, with the FBS immobiliser generations deciding how hard the door is locked: FBS3-era cars are well within reach of proper tooling, while FBS4-era cars are a different conversation — we'll tell you straight on the phone which side yours falls. The background is in our FBS3 vs FBS4 explainer. Older Mercedes with failing cluster displays often route through W211 cluster repair first — repair keeps the original figure and skips correction entirely.

The Mercedes work that fills the diary

Replacement clusters programmed to true mileage after display or board failure. Km-to-miles conversions — Germany supplies a steady stream of C, E and S Class imports. Sprinter and Vito working vans whose clusters get swapped at the yard and need the true figure back the same day (the vans also keep our Sprinter key service busy). And recoveries where a generic tool met FBS security and lost.

Models covered

A to S Class across the W176/W204/W205/W212/W213 families, CLA, GLA through GLE, SLK, plus Sprinter and Vito vans. AMG and hybrid variants included — call with the reg and we'll confirm FBS generation and approach before you commit.

Whatever the reason — replacement cluster, import conversion, post-repair tidy-up or a rescued DIY attempt — the standard is the same: every module in agreement, verified at your address. Cost questions? The cost guide explains what moves the price.

Typical call-out

W212 estate, used dash from a breaker, EZS sulking

The replacement cluster showed 40k against a documented 130k and the ignition module knew it. True figure written to cluster and EZS together at the owner's workplace; every reading agreed before the end of his lunch hour.

Mercedes mileage questions

Can you correct FBS4-era Mercedes?
FBS4 locks the route considerably harder than FBS3 — some jobs are practical, some genuinely aren't. Give us the reg and we'll tell you honestly which yours is before any visit is booked.
Cluster repair or correction — which do I need?
If your original dash is failing, repair keeps the true mileage untouched — often the cleaner route. If a replacement is already in, correction to the documented figure completes the job.
Do you do Sprinters and other working vans?
Daily — at the yard or between jobs. The van being off the road is the expensive part, so we come to it, not the other way round.
My imported Mercedes counts kilometres. Fixable at home?
Yes — the exact converted total written to cluster and EZS at your address, so dash and import papers finally match.
